NCS Product Synopsis
Update: September 25, 2008
«©NCSX» A wheat-haired lad named Kyrie Irunis lives in a world ruled by Beastmen and their human co-conspirators. A chance encounter with a terrorist named Morte leads Kyrie to join her organization which is known under the banner of the World Destruction Committee. Morte and her crew are determined to destroy the world and Kyrie is their secret agent of destruction.
Kyrie lives in a small town that runs on wind power. We know this because there are three large windmills situated on the perimeter of the village. Control is handled through the d-pad and face buttons - there's no touch screen interaction to speak of. Battles are fought by pressing the face buttons which correspond to an attack - Press "Y" for multiple stabs and "X" for a strong slash attack. Pressing the "A" button will open up status and inventory screens. Kyrie is armed with two blades which he thrusts at creatures with frenzied stabbing action.

NCS Game Notes
» Walk north in the center of town and there's a cavern to explore.

» After each battle, the EXP earned is tabulated and any items and gold recovered are shown.

» Inside the cavern to the north of town, there are some easy encounters to slog through until an important event opens up where Kyrie battles a brown-colored fish creature. Defeating it will automatically earn enough EXP to level Kyrie up and earn him 206G.

» As Kyrie gains in experience, he'll attack first on most encounters and he'll gain the ability to attack multiple times before the enemy even gets to land a single blow. The order of battle is shown on the lower left forner of the touch screen. Encounters are entirely random and can occur out of the blue.

» After emerging from the cavern, Kyrie finds leaflets littered on the ground. He picks up a couple to read. To trigger the next event and gain the ability to leave town, head into the tavern and talk to the barkeep. Afterwards, Kyrie will be able to leave by heading towards the left side of town.

» The camera can't be swiveled while traveling outdoors but once indoors, pressing either the L or R button will rotate the perspective of the camera. Pressing once will rotate the camera by 45° around the locus of Kyrie.

» We've played pretty much every NDS game released since the handheld's launch in Japan in 2004. World Destruction's introductory cinema is way up there in terms of visual impact and technical proficiency. The theme song isn't bad either. The cinema will take up 1 minute and 58 seconds of your time if you decide to watch it from start to finish.
