NCS Product Synopsis
Update: December 16, 2005

«©NCSX» Before anyone talked about Fight Club, they were talking about Tough (aka Shootfighter Tekken), a Japanese manga which spanned the decade between 1993 to 2003. Tough gave thrills to crushing-blow-loving otaku with 42 volumes of bone busting bouts, internal injury action, wayward broken limbs, and other bloody fighting action. The Miyazawa family are the stewards of a deadly martial art known as Nadashinkage or Nanshin Shadow Style which kills by cracking bones, pulping up internal organs, and stopping hearts. With such secret knowledge and power, challengers confront the family in an effort to learn the forbidden martial art and appropriate its awesome abilities.

NCS Game Notes
* The intro shows a Kiichi, a muscled blonde fighter practicing his moves, followed by two fighters moving in unison as they punch and kick at air. More fighters are shown with their own moves and stylized skills including a Chinese dude who looks like someone from our high school. Intro ends with a stoic Seiko Miyazawa moving in slow motion as he palms out an attack at the screen.

* Modes in the game are as follows / STORY BATTLE / FREE BATTLE / TIME ATTACK / VS BATTLE / SURVIVAL / TRAINING / OPTION.

If STORY BATTLE is chosen, players will start the game as the white-haired fuzzy tressed muscle-man Kiichi Miyazawa who takes on gramps, a shiny pated, middle-aged guy in a white and blue striped track suit named Jichan which means grandfather in Japanese.

* In the other modes, players get to choose a fighter from 12 combatants. We would recommend TRAINING mode to learn the different attacks and grappling moves before engaging an opponent in battle. The full roster of fighters is as follows:

1) Kiichi "Keybo" Miyazawa / default hero with white peachfuzz hair and thick black eyebrows
2) Jarunee Sukapatana / wears a red headband and hands are taped up
3) Noel Richard / Crazy-eyed rasta with braids and a yellow jacket
4) Jacob Ozon / Blonde, big forehead and a pencil thin mustache
5) Alan Strode / May be modeled after the lead singer of Def Leppard
6) Shizuku / Middle-aged and balding Japanese fellow with glasses
7) Ka Fan / Fierce Chinese fighter with brawny features
8) Ka Leng / More sedate Chinese fighter in a blue jacket
9) Duke / Woody Harrelson in red glasses sporting a snake tattoo on his back
10) Jichan - Bald headed and short in stature but powerful in the battlefield. Patriarch/Grandpa of the Miyazawa family.
11) Kiryu Miyazawa / Scowling at the camera won't win this slick-haired fighter any prizes. Elder brother to Kiichi.
12) Seiko "Oton" Miyazawa / Square and stone faced muscle man with a flat top and natty suit and glasses. Fathered Kiichi and Kiryu.

* There are nine areas to fight in including a rainy night scene where lightning arcs across the background, inside a power plant, near a shrine with a big old temple in the background, and the wharf where machinery and boats sit idle as the two fighters bout about.

* The L1, L2, and R1 trigger buttons are all grappling moves when standing still and not moving the D-pad in any direction. Grappling moves are where one may grab and opponent and flip him or flick someone to the ground. When the L-analog pad is moved in any direction and then the triggers are hit, their functions will change to that of direct attacks.

* The "O" and "X" buttons trigger kicks from the left or right while SQUARE and TRIANGLE perform punches from the left or right arm.

* During a battle, press START to view the options that may be toggled. The list of moves available to your fighter may also be viewed by checking the "COMMAND LIST" option.
