NCS Product Synopsis Update: August 10, 2001 «©NCSX» When you're "gone fishing," a good time is usually had. Virtual fishing offers the same level of pleasure if you're in the right mindset. Players choose from a male or female fisher person, both faceless, probably to allow the use of your imagination. Three game options are available: "Quickfish", Tournament, and Practice. Quickfish throws you on a lake as the sound of nature filters from the background. Pressing A starts the power meter and pressing A again hurtles your line and lure into the far reaches of the water. Again, pressing A starts the reeling. Moving from side to side will make your lure mimic your movements. As this is going on, waves lap, birds chirp, and you watch the water for movement and bites.
The depths are cluttered with rocks, branches and other detritus while the fishes pose as shadowy dwellers who dart back and forth. To attract them, wiggle your lure and skip it across the water. Repeat a couple of times, sit back, and hope for the best. A picture of your lure darkens when it's resting on the bottom of the drink and gradually lightens up when you reel it to the surface. The tournament mode allows you to ride out in your boat, find the perfect spot to dwell and fish for big bass and other snapperheads. In-game menus and options are completely in English, making this import friendly for North American and European anglers.
