«©NCSX»The sequel to Gyakuten Kenjireunites Miles Edgeworth with detective Dick Gumshoe and a cutpurse named Kay Faraday. In the game, players are taken back to Gourd Lake which was a featured setting from the original Phoenix Wright courtroom drama. A new judge has been assigned to the game named Hakari Mikagami who butts heads with Miles. In the first chapter, Hakari wants to re-assign one of Miles' cases to another attorney named Yumihiko Ichiyanagi.
Similar to the original Gyakuten Kenji, players help Miles with investigations, logic puzzles, and confrontations. New to the sequel is a sequence called "Chess Logic" where discrepancies during a character interaction must be spotted and exploited. The "chess" reference alludes to the chess pieces that are shown during the decision sequence.
