«©NCSX» According to Hajime no Ippomanga lore, Makunouchi Ippo was an underdog who used his inner drive and natural talent to become a top contender in the world of professional boxing. Mak's trials and tribulations have been chronicled in games for the Gameboy Advance, PS2, PSP, and the Wii. The Nintendo DS gets some love from Ippo with a new Hajime no Ippo boxing game from developer ESP/Treasure and publisher D3 Publisher.
This time around, the touch pen is used to control Ippo's punches as well as the bobbing and weaving motions that pugilists use to avoid incoming thunder. The Challenge Mode in the game pits a boxer against each a series of adversaries while the Free Play Mode gives gamers a chance to alter the variables of a match.
Region-Free
Japanese NDS games may be played on North American and European NDS handhelds. There is no region-coding on Nintendo DS game cards.
