NCS Product Synopsis January 30, 2006 «©NCSX» Tomy's Dots library of pin-toys expands a bit more with the release of Balloon Bomber and Ice Climber Dot-Pins. Unlike the earlier Dots sets which featured 2 boards, 2 mounts, and 520 pins to create classic video game characters, Series 3 sets feature 4 boards, 4 mounts, and 650 pins to create heroes, enemies, and entire scenes as shown on the front cover of the Dots sets. With 4 boards to bind together, larger gaming scenes may be designed or the Dots may also be repurposed to create messages and/or daily mantras to follow.
1) Ice Climber Kit- The first set features the mallet swinging Eskimos from Ice Climber. In the promotional photo, Tomy's pin-artist has a pink parka wearing Eskimo swinging a mallet at an unsuspecting blue parka wearing Eskimo. The set includes 650 pegs of varying color including a new shade of orange. (Japanese ドッツ アイスクライマー) Ice Climber was released by Nintendo for the Family Computer in 1985. It is an action game in which you defeat enemies that get in your way and break blocks with a mallet while trying to reach the top of a mountain. This set includes a new color, deep orange.
2) Balloon Fight Kit - The second set pays homage to Balloon Fight and shows a balloon-lofted warrior about to receive a kiss from a blue-toothed beast from the deep. The set includes 650 pegs with three new peg colors - Gold, Pink, and Emerald. (Japanese ドッツ バルーンファイト) Balloon Fight was released by Nintendo for the Family Computer in 1985. It is an action game in which the main character flies through the sky with balloons and defeats enemies. This set includes three new colors: gold, pink, and emerald.

This item is also known as the ".S" series or "Dots" from Tomy but that branding isn't conducive to merchandising or search engine foraging. "Dots" is a new hobby tool that creates dot graphics by inserting a dot pin into a panel with holes. You can also use the joint parts to join multiple panels vertically or horizontally to create larger works.
