NCS Preorder Synopsis
Update: September 2, 2009
«©NCSX» Baseball isn't the official national pastime of Japan but it's pretty close. Thousands of high schools and universities across Japan have their own baseball teams and the Japanese professional leagues attract a loyal following among the Pro Yakyu faithful. On the video game side of things, we look to Konami's baseball games as the standard bearers in Japan but there are others such as Dorabase which debuted in 2007. Two years later, Bandai brings a sequel to the Nintendo DS which features touch pen batting and pitching but the players aren't human. They're cats. Similar to the original game, Doraemon makes an appearance and game modes include a Story Mode with manga-panels which tell the story and a Making Mode where players create their own mangy feline players to engage in baseball.

In the Doraemon mythos, the robotic cat carries flashlight gadgets which are capable of making things smaller or bigger. Taito takes Doraemon's flashlights and crafts them into 1GB USB drives...

A couple of years ago, Sega released a Doraemon Zodiac Plush product which linked the portly cat with the stars.

Doraemon is such a joyful little beast that one can't help but smirk when the fat feline's face pops up on pillows, plushies, clothing, ramen packages, and pretty much everything under the sun.
