Clannad

«©NCSX» Five high school maidens who bear remarkable similarities to characters from "Kanon" and "Air" (they're all designed by Itaru Hinoue) provide the interaction and dramatic foil in Clannad. Originally a Japanese PC game, a PS2 version with characters voices and full spoken dialogue was released in 2006. The PSP version allows portable players to get in on the fun as well.

As the story goes, protagonist Tomoya Okazaki is something of a slacker and doesn't have much ambition or plans after high school. All this changes when he meets a quintet of girls including a child prodigy named Kotomi Ichinose, a shy and reserved girl who wants to revive the drama club known as Nagisa Furukawa, and a former delinquent named Tomoyo Sakagami who is on a mission to change the ways of other delinquents. With newfound direction in his life, Tomoya Okazaki becomes a one-man-army who helps his new acquaintances and perhaps even finds a little love.

In addition to the five main heroines in the game, a supporting cast of ten characters also provide additional interaction and drama.

* Unlike "Air" and "Kanon" which featured nudity and adult themes, Clannad was designed to be played by gamers of all ages.
