«©NCSX» Back in the 90s, Barcode Battler was a popular game in Japan where barcodes from everyday consumer products were scanned to create robots with varying attributes depending on the barcode. The craze went on to engender a Super Famicom game which didn't require the use of barcodes to play although it was possible. The game featured the themes and basic game play of the Barcode Battler phenomenon.
It was possible to connect a Barcode Battler II handheld to the Super Famicom with a special adapter called aptly the Barcode Battler II Interface which plugged into the second controller port of the SFC.
