NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Now we know why some USA distributors were offering decent PS3 bundle prices in the past few weeks. Sony dropped the price of the PS3 yesterday to US$299 (effective immediately) which lops off $100 from the 80GB model that's been the dominant seller. In addition to the price drop, a thinner version of the console is slated to ship next month which is flatter, wider, and tablet-esque in shape.
Roughly 95% of our hardware trade is to the export market and NCS starts accepting preorders for the slim PS3 console to ship in on September 3, 2009. Reservations are welcome today.

Sony hasn't gone overboard with Playstation 3 console variants in the past few years. We're attributing the scarcity of variants to the relatively high price point of the console.
