NCS Game Synopsis «©NCSX» The battlefield is alive once again with the hulking bodies of hundreds of mobile suits. Right in the thick of it is a lone Gundam warrior who swings, spins, and shoots to demolish entire swaths of Zaku grunts. Similar to the first Gundam Musou, the Official Mode allows players to select a mech and battle other mechs within the context of the original Universal Century continuity. A new Mission Mode features targeted objectives that must be completed in order to proceed to the next mission. New mobile suits featured in the game include PMX-002 Bolinoak Sammahn, ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam, ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam, F91 Gundam Formula 91, and ZGMF-X19A Infinite Justice Gundam. Megalithic Mobile Armors are also featured in the game such as the MA-08 Big Zam, the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam, NZ-000 Quin Mantha, JDG-00X Devil Gundam, and the NZ-333 Alpha Azieru. When fighting a Mobile Armor, parts that are destructible will visibly get damaged and flash when struck. The counterattacks from Mobile Armors are non-discriminatory in that they'll damage their own allies as well as your mech. Battles take place on the ground as well as outer space where regiments of enemy attackers gather together in true standing army fashion.
NCS Game Notes » Press START and the following selections appear which may be selected from a sort of wheel while the streaming cosmos serves as the background.
OFFICIAL MODE - Choose a character and play a game from the UC timeline MISSION MODE - Select a character such as Kira Yamato and tackle assorted missions VERSUS MODE [War Mode, Sudden Death Mode, Hunting Mode] LIBRARY [Character Library, Mobile Suit Library, Battle Ship Library, Movie Library, Sound Library] OPTION [Game Settings, Sound Settings, Control Settings, Save, Load, Install, Uninstall]
» The characters selectable in the Official Mode are: Amuro Ray, Char Aznable, Kamille Bidan, and Judau Ashta. After starting a game with a character, a personal history appears which recounts his biography and place in the UC timeline. If you select Amuro, his first mission places him above the planet where protects White Base from from a contingent of Zaku. After destroying roughly half the Zaku in the first field area, some helper bots from White Base arrive but they're not really necessary since the Zaku are relatively complacent and sort of wait around for destruction.
» Voice acting accompanies the dialogue in the game.
» MISSION MODE features a number of different mission types which are selectable. They are: Story Mission, Free Mission, Collection Mission, License Mission, Friendship Mission, and Extra Mission. At the outset of the game, only the Free Missions are playable and the other missions must be unlocked before they're accessible.
» When slashing at a Zaku, the third slash generally removes its right leg, an arm, or its head before it topples over and explodes.
» To thrust around the battlefield, press the "X" button quickly for a short burst of high-powered maneuverability. Zig-zag thrust moves are possible where your mech rotates quickly around an enemy Zaku and destroys it with 2 strokes. For sustained thrust to cover distances, press and hold the "X" button.
» An overheat gauge on the lower left corner will prevent your Mobile Suit from jump-jetting or thrusting when it's red.
