«©NCSX» Idea Factory marries school romance interaction with a supernatural storyline involving soul retrieval, latent skills, and a demon. At the outset of the game, a psychological test made up of 12 questions is administered which determines the personality traits of the player... which also grants the game's protagonist his traits. Once the game starts, actions and decisions affect the course of the game as well as the player's in-game personality and outlook. Lost Aya is designed with standard romance interaction formula where girls are met, conversations are held, and important events have the tendency of changing the scope of a relationship for better or worse. The supernatural bent in the storyline provides an interesting overlay to the interaction.
The protagonist is a student named Yuji Oguma and Satan has stolen his soul. By using wits, interaction, and reasoning, Yuji and a good samaritan named Mary work together to take back his soul.
