Kokoro no Tobira is a PS2 port of "Midsummer Door - A Story with You", which was released for Windows in 2003 and was well received. As high school life draws to a close, the protagonist Yuji Mizuhara worries about his future and the people around him. When the protagonist was a child, he would often create picture books for his sickly younger sister Nanami and read them to her.
Now, her sister has completely recovered and is living a normal life. Yuji himself was living a very ordinary school life with his friend Shogo and his childhood friend Kaori Kashima. However, the season of graduation is gradually approaching. Nanami brings a picture book to Yuji, who still has no clear hopes for the future. It is an unfinished picture book. When did he forget to create and dream? And a new time begins to move...
In order to port the game, there are many changes to be made to the new title. First of all, an opening movie has been added and the background music has been completely renewed. This has made the impression conveyed from the game screen even deeper. An original scenario for the PS2 has also been added. Even players who enjoyed the game on Windows will find it worth revisiting. Other improvements unique to the PS2 version include full voice acting.
