NCS Product Synopsis «©NCSX» Konami feeds the Karaoke Revolution monster with yet another volume which apparently caters to the pre-teen set. After listening to some of the tracks on the disk, we're unable to discern them from the standard J-Pop that Avex and other publishers peddle. Perhaps we were expecting something like Disney Mix. For example, the first track - Free Will from a Japanese female singer named Ruppina sounds like something that might dovetail with an anime like Sailor Moon. The girl group known as ZONE also contributes a song called true blue which appears to deal with youthful uncertainty.
A total of 50 new tracks are featured in Kids Song Selection. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Karaoke Revolution gives aspiring idols a chance to practice their singing in front of the television before going live amongst the living. An official Konami microphone is required to play - the USA headset controller won't work with the Japanese karaoke games. Once the game begins, the player chooses an onscreen avatar, selects the song and proceeds to the singing action, hitting the notes and carrying the song like a champ. Successful renditions of songs will unlock new costumes for the character to wear as well as videos.
Please note that the Japanese microphone is required for Japanese Karaoke Revolution games. The USA headset (Socom) will not work with Japanese mic games.
Alternate SKU: VW218-J1 JAN Code: 4988602111460
Region Lock-out Please note Japanese Playstation 2 games will not boot on USA or European PS2 consoles due to the inherent region-lockout on Playstation 2 game discs.
