NCS Product Synopsis
Update: May 30, 2002
«©NCSX» The Disney corporation's most recognizable mascot has to be Mickey Mouse. That cheerful rodent and his passel of pals have thrilled children the world over with their cartoon antics and Disney's merchandising. Join Minnie, Morty (one of Mickey's nephews), Donald, and Goofy as they hit the links and swing some iron. Four hidden characters may be unlocked as you reach goals and hit marks. Mickey Mouse serves as commentator and caddy during the game to help you improve your swing, teach technique, and provide encouragement. Up to four players may engage in a tourney and play on six courses which range from the usual perfectly manicured greens of a professional golf course to a dreamy tropical island. A game named Disney Golf wouldn't be right if there wasn't some Disney magic in the air. Hit a ball into special areas on a course and you'll win special items which help you "juice" the ball. With newfound mojo, you'll make magic moments such as a Hole in One, and other tricks to impress Mickey. A Challenge mode pits a marquee character of your choosing against other Disney elite where each successful round of golf levels up your power and other playing stats.

NCS Game Notes
* The game was designed by T&E Soft, an old software publisher who made many golfing games back in the day.
* The intro to the game shows the various Disney characters on the green while a loud announcer utters their names. Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and even Pluto are in attendance.
* During the introductory golfing demo, rabbits and other little critters may be seen hopping along the grounds. While they don't disturb anything or block the golfers' shots, Disney Golf has the distinction of being the first and only golf simulation where congenial rodents may be seen in the same vicinity as the golfers.
* Game Modes include the following:
Stroke Play - The player with the lowest score for 18 holes wins
Match Play - The the aim is to win each hole on an individual basis
Skins Match - Each hole is valued differently and whoever wins the most points takes the trophy
Long Drive Contest - Players compete for the longest drive distance
Near Pin Contest - Hit for the closest distance to the hole
Challenge - Golf against different Disney characters
Combination Play - Team up with another player and takes turns at shots
* Only four characters are selectable in the beginning: Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Mortimer. Five others characters are shadowed but a recognizable silhouette is Daisy's. There's an old duck in there which we assume is Donald's Scots relative, a rat, a dog, and a big galoot whose name escapes us.
* Special items that may be equipped before hitting the links include Miracle Putting which shows a direct putting line to the green, High Shot which allows for higher trajectory, Protein for hitting a ball 3% further, and other power-ups.
* Mickey is not playable in the game but he does serve as a commentator when your golfer is swinging or putting for par.
* The golfing mechanism used in the game is standard in the world of virtual golfing. A power meter located on the bottom of the screen fills up towards the left and one must time it so that it hits the necessary yardage indicator by pressing the "X" button. Once pressed, the meter begins moving back towards the right and one must tap the "X" button again when the indicator reaches a little star point. Press it earlier rather than later for the best results as the indicator nears the star. You'll know if you hit it on the dot when the words, "GOOD" appear. If both your power and timing are perfect, the words, "Very Good" will appear followed by "Nice Shot" in rainbow colored letters.
* In the Now Loading screen, Pluto gallops towards various pieces of food such as a piece of cake and bones.
