«©NCSX» Taikoubou, main character of the Houshin Engi storyline, answers to the call of doushi - an uber-human with magical powers. At 72 years old, he doesn't look a day over 17 but that's the advantage of being supernaturally gifted.
One day, Taikoubou is given the Houshin Project, whose decree is to eliminate monsters on Earth to protect man. Reluctant at first, he eventually takes up the cause and sets forth with a few comrades and his familiar reijyu. Taik wields a wand dubbed Dashinben which he uses to attack and defend during heated battles. The theme of Houshin Engi lends itself naturally to a action adventure game where battles are a focus. Fights take place inside towns, outside castles, and through open spaces. As Taikoubou and crew travel the land, various magical items and spells may be discovered and used during the fighting sequences. Special effects abound when using magic and players will witness lightning strikes exploding from the heavens whilst blankets of fire erupt from the ground, immersing enemy forces. Pretty.
